THE PROBLEM

In most countries the restaurant industry is obliged by law to utilize grease traps to remove oil, grease and organic solid matter from waste water before it flows into municipal drains. Unfortunately, grease traps are generally under-sized and therefore ineffective.

A large portion of the oil and grease and solid organic material escapes into drain pipes and municipal sewers causing blockages and bad odors. The unblocking cost is a major financial burden to both restaurants and municipalities. Municipal water-treatment facilities spend millions to remove these solids from waste water. Reducing the solids at source would significantly reduce the cost of municipal water treatment.
THE SOLUTION

The Rhino Wet Waste Filtration System is a simple but highly effective device which filters out most of the organic solid matter before it enters the grease trap. By doing so, it prevents the organic material (food particles) from accumulating in the grease traps.

As a result, the grease traps become more effective in separating the oil and grease from the water. Fewer costly drain blockages occur and fewer grease trap evacuations are required. Tons of solid waste is prevented from reaching municipal water treatment plants. The Rhino Wet Waste Filtration System installation would typically be under sinks before the water enters the drain or the existing grease trap filtration system.
